Awareness and core knowledge assessment of transient ischemic attack among adults with hypertension

Background: Hypertensive patients have an increased risk of transient ischemic attacks (TIAs). Objectives: To assess the degree of awareness of adults with hypertension in the Taif region, Saudi Arabia about TIAs.
Methods: A cross-sectional study including 269 hypertensive individuals was conducted utilizing an online questionnaire. Data on patients’ demographics, hypertension condition, and awareness about TIAs were obtained.
Results: Hundred forty-seven (54.6%) patients had an age of 18–35 years, 184 (68.4%) were females, 143 (53.2%) were unmarried, 194 (72.1%) were unemployed, and 82 (67.7%) had bachelor’s education. Of them, 152 (56.5%) had the disease for
