MEDIA AND CHILDREN

Abstract

One of the notable changes in our social environment in the 21st century has been the saturation of our culture and daily lives by the media.
Unfortunately, the consequences of one particular common element of the electronic mass media have a particularly detrimental effect on children’s well being.Media includes every broad casting and narrow casting medium such as newspapers, magazines, TV, radio, billboards, direct
mail, telephone, fax, and internet.Children spend an average of >7 hours/day using media, and the vast majority of them have access to a bedroom television, computer, the internet, a video-game console and a smart phone.
