GERIATRIC HEALTH IN INDIA CONCERNS AND SOLUTIONS

Abstract

Ageing is a biological process and experienced by the humankind in all times. It refers to a sequence of changes across a life span of an individual. Chronological age of 65 years and above as a ‘elderly’ or older person in India,"senior citizen" means any person being a citizen of India, who has attained the age of sixty years or above.There is a need to highlight the medical and socioeconomic problems that are being faced by the elderly people in India, and strategies for improvement in their quality of life also need to be explored.
