PROMOTION OF HEALTH

Abstract

The promotion of health falls firmly into the remit of nursing. That is not to say that health promotion is an exclusively nurse-led-activity; rather, that lies at the very heart of nursing. The Nurse encompasses the principles of health promotion; indeed, every consultation can be
seen as a promoting opportunity.Health promotion is a behavioral social science that draws from the biological, environmental, psychological,
physical and medical sciences to promote health and prevent disease, disability and premature death through education-driven voluntary behavior change activities.
