Effects of Tridax procumbens Powder on Performance of Layer Birds

Abstract
In this study, Tridax procumbens powder was used as a substitute for soybean meal. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of different level of substitution of soybean meal by Tridax procumbens powder in food of ISA Brown layers. Hence, three types of diets including different substitution rate (0%; 10% and 20%) of Tridax procumbens powder were used. The results showed that the final weight of chickens increased with the substitution rate of Tridax procumbens powder (p < 0.001). Digestibility, Average Daily Gain (ADG) and Consumption Index (IC) were not affected by the substitution rate (p>0.05).
