OXIDATIVE STRESS

Abstract

Oxygen is the primary oxidant in metabolic reactions designed to obtain energy from the oxidation of a variety of organic molecules.Oxidative stress reflects an imbalance the systemic manifestation of reactive oxygen species and a biological systems ability to readily detoxify the reactive intermediates or to repair the resulting damage.
