Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a debilitating pro-inflammatory condition with autoimmune components brought on by trauma. It is characterized by ongoing, severe discomfort and disability, and the majority of those affected are unable to perform in social or professional settings. A promising therapy for treating chronic pain is hyperbaric oxygen (HBO). Physicians who treat chronic pain disorders must explore HBO when standard therapies are ineffective. However, we must be wary of the possibility of oxygen toxicity. More research is necessary to ascertain the function of HBO therapy in the treatment of this severe illness and to comprehend the mechanisms behind its effects.
