Serum creatine kinase does not predict ectopic pregnancy

Abstract

 


In ectopic pregnancy,trophoblastic invasion occurs at sites other than uterine cavity and usually it would be tubal parts .During invasion, tubal smooth muscle cells degenerate causing release of some amount of creatine kinase To evaluate this process, we studied to 35 patient with ectopic pregnancy and 35 healthy pregnant women for assessment of creatine kinase levels by spectrophotometrictechnique. In conclusion; comparing the level of creatine kinase in patients with ectopic pregnancy and in healthy gravidas, no difference was observed.
