Abstract

This study was carried out in the 29 male students. The students were divided into two groups. The students of first group (n=16) were held in a folk-dancing education programme for three months. The other group (n=13) was left as control. Some respiratory parameters were analyzed before and after the programme. FVC,FEV1 ,MVV, FEF and VCK(%) values were found to be higher in the first group than the second group. It was suggested that dealing with folk-dancing may have an increasing effect on some respiratory parameters.

Key words: Folk-dancing, respiratory parameters.
