Measles Seroprevalance Among People Aged 15 And Over Living In A Village of Gölbaşı County

Abstract


 

 

Aim: The aim of this study Is to evaluate the measles seroprevalance among people aged 15 and over living ¡n a village.

Material and Methods: This is a cross-sectional study conducted in February 1998. It was planned to reach 387people aged 15 and over but at the end of the study 279 (%72.1) were reached. Measles IgG were detected in venous blood samples with ELISA technique. Out of279 Investigated people 265 whose serology was her positive or negative were included in the analysis.

Findings and Results: %89.8 of the Investigated people were seropositive and %10.2 were seronegative. There was statistically significant difference between the age groups with respect to the serology and arithmetic mean values of measles antibody (p
