A Benign Mediastinal Mass: Cavernous Hemangioma

Abstract


 

Cavernous hemangioma is a rare benign anterior mediastinal mass and may be symptomatic by compression to the surrounding organs or structures. There is no diagnostic and typical features radiologically. Surgical excision is curative and malignant degeneration has not been reported.

A patient with mediastinal hemangioma diagnosed by mediastinoscopic biopsy and treated with tho racotomy and total excision is presented.
