Arthroscopic Treatment Of Knee Degenerative Arthritis

Abstract


 

We evaluated the 86 knees of 78 patients arthroscopically treated for degenerative knee osteoarthritis between February 1993 and June 1998. Forty-six patients were female and 32 male, with a mean age of 44.8 years (28-65). In eight patients bilateral, 52 right and 34 left knees were undergone the procedure. According to the Ahlback criteria, radiologically clinical stages between 1-4 were included in the study. Arthroscopic findings were evaluated according to the Outerbridge classification. After mean 20.8 months of follow-up clinical evaluation was made according to the Patel-Aicroth criteria. Clinical evaluation on the 6th month of follow up revelead 80.1% good and excellent results, whereas this percentage decresead to 50% on the 20.8 month mean follow up (p
