Serologic Evaluation For HBV And HCV Of Blood Donors Applying To Red-Crescent Blood Bank In Erzurum

Abstract


 

Transfusion-transmitted infections are the most encountered complications in transfusion practice. HBV, HCV

were routinely screened in blood banks. These tests are obligatory for transfusion safety and besides gives a rough

idea about the seropositivity rates of region.ın this study HbsAg and AntiHCV seropositivity rates of 6680 blood

donors investigated retrospectively in Erzurum Red-Crescent Blood Bank between January 1990 to June 2000.The

carriage rates for HbsAg and Anti HCV were found 1.8 % and o.2 % .
