The Evaluation Of Obligatory Notificable Diseases Reported In Provincial Health Directorate In Erzurum

Abstract


 

According to the records of Erzurum Provincial Health Directorate, between January 1997 and June 2000, 6,538

cases of contagious disease were reported. Among those, streptococcal angina (67.6 %), measles (6.2 %), amoebic

dysentery (5.7 %) and hepatitis A (5.7 %) were the most frequently observed ones. Measles, tuberculosis and

hepatitis B showed the highest prevalence among the obligatory notificable diseases, which could be prevented by

vaccination. Diseases such as AIDS, poliomyelitis, rabies, cholera and tetanus were not reported. Within the same

period, vaccination rate was investigated with respect to the contagious diseases.
