Diagnosis of T. intestinalis can be made by way observing the motile trophozoids in wet mount preparation under

light microscope. In addition to, MS-F (Modified Shaffer-Frye) and CPLM (Cystein-Peptone-Liver-Maltose) media

are suggested for cultivation of this protozoon for diagnosis.

Robinson media that used for amoeba has been tried for cultivation of T. intestinalis

T. intestinalis containing stool samples which were examined under light microscope in the İnonu University Medical

Faculty Department of Parasitology were cultivated in the Robinson media and reproduction was checked every 48

hours. It was observed that the T. intestinalis can survive for 36 days in Robinson media.

As a result, Robinson medium is available for diagnosis of T. intestinalis and trophozoids may be used in educational

research studies also.
