In this review, we emphasize the importance of slime production of coagulase-negative staphylococi (CoNS) and Candida spp. and clinical significance of this factor. We explaned the characteristics and detection methods of slime factor and several factors affecting the adhesion. Meanwhile, the structure of the biofilm and its influence of the virulence were reassessed comprehensivly.
