Prevalence of İntestinal Parasitic İnfections Among Nursery School and Orhpanage

Abstract


 

In this study, the incidence of intestinal parasites among nursery school and orphanage of Malatya was investigated, and it was aimed to compare the results of this study with our previous study results reported in 2000 based on whether there was a difference on the incidence of parasites or not. Also to the students and staff were informed about intestinal parasites.

In this study, stool specimens and cellophane tape preparations from a total of 227 children in 0-18 age group were examined. Intestinal parasites were detected in 84 (%37) of 227 specimens. Compared 2000 year with 2007 year, according to the present results, there was significant decrease in prevalence rates of intestinal parasites (p0.05).
