Family Medicine as an Academic Discipline

Abstract


 

Family medicine is freuquently identified as a health transformation system in the community. However, Family Medicine is a distinct and independent academic discipline with specific clinic interventions, journals and associations represented both nationaly and internationaly. In this respect  brief history of development, core competencies and role of family medicine in health service delivery in the process of health transformation system was evaluated.
