Prebiotics and Their Effects on Human Health [Prebiyotikler ve İnsan Sağlığı Üzerindeki Etkileri]

Abstract

It is known that some foods improve health quality and prevent the formation of some common forms of cancer. To solve this nutrition problem, intensive researchs are performing and Training programs are organizing in all over the world especially in the developed countries. There is a balance between host and intestinal microbiota in the body and the causes which disrupt this equilibrium cause diseases. For a healthy and balanced diet, reducing the risk of diet related diseases is targeted by adding functional foods to diet. One of the functional foods is prebiotics. In this review, we aimed to describe the beneficial effects of prebiotics on human health.
