Ayurvedic Management of Kitibha Kushta in A Child- A Case Report

Kushta being the Raktavaha Sroto Dushti Vikara,Kitibha Kushta is depicted beneath KshudraKushta.Its clinical features are Shyava, Kinakharasparsha, Parusha. A 13-year-old male child was brought to the Out Patient Department of Kaumarabhritya, Mandsaur Institute of Ayurveda Education and Research by his Mother with complaints of blackish discoloration of skin all over the body especially over extremities,around neck since childhood associated with severe dryness and itching alongwith itchy B/L Eyes since 7 years.Condition aggravates during intake of spicy and junk food items in excessive quantity. This condition can be understood as Kitibhakushta. After a detailed evaluation and thorough clinical examination, started with Deepana Pachana, Snehapana and Sarvanga Abhyanga, and NityaVirechana alongwith KriyaKalpa-Seka and Bidalak was done. There were significant improvements in the condition of the Child. Later, child discharged with medicines, especially to prevent its recurrence .
