PROFILE OF CIRCULATING LEVELS OF BIOCHEMICALS IN PATIENTS OF BRONCHIAL ASTHMA AND EFFECT OF SYRUP ADASOL-A.

Abstract

Circulating levels of blood histamine, plasma histamine, R. B. C. achetylcholine and plasma cortisol in blood and adrenaline and nor-adrenaline in urine were estimated in patients of bronchial asthma before and after twenty-one days' treatment with an indigenous drug : Syrup Adasol•A. A highly significant increase in the levels of blood histamine plasma histaminase and R. B. C. acetylcholine, and significant decrease in plasma cortisol were observed in patients of bronchial asthma. The level of urinary catecholamines also increased. All these biochemical rever¬ted toward their normal values after treatment.
