Introduction: Madhumeha is a Vataja type of Tridoshaja disease. Vanga is used
abundantly in practice of Ayurveda for the treatment of Madhumeha. It is a drug of choice for the
management of Madhumeha (DM-II). Guduchi Ghana ( aqueous extract of Tinospora cordifolia
(Willd.) Miers) of is also having Mehahara effect and old honey is also to be claimed for Mehaghna
properties. Material and methods: In present study total 64 patients were registered. Out of them
in Group A total 32 patients were managed with Vanga Bhasma (250 mg) along with Guduchi
Ghana (250 mg) + Old Honey (3 ml) as Sahapana whereas in Group B, 32 patients were managed
with Guduchi Ghana (250 mg) + Old Honey (3 ml) for 28 days. Observations and Results: Present
study 14%, 28% and 10% of patients markedly improvement, moderate improvement, mildly
improvement were found in Group A respectively. While 2%, 10% and 24% markedly improvement,
moderate improvement, and mildly improvement were found in Group B respectively. Overall
result showed that Vanga Bhasma possesses the antihyperglycemic effect along with its Sahapana
and it doesnt have hypoglycemic effect. Conclusion: Vanga Bhasma with Sahapana (Guduchi
Ghana) was found moderate anti-hyperglycemic agent in the patients of Madhumeha (Type-2
Diabetes Mellitus)).
