Situation analysis of health care waste management in private sector hospitals in Federal Capital Territory, Islamabad, PAkistan

Abstract

The deleterious and harmful effects of hospital waste on environment and human health is well documented in Pakistan.
The hospital waste that may be produced as a result of patient care in hospitals, clinical settings including the diagnostic laboratories is one of the potential health hazards. It significantly contributes to the transfusion transmitted diseases and ever increasing incidence of HBV, HCV and HIV.
