Abstract
Objectives of the study
To study and compare the levels of the role of furin enzyme activity and (FABP-4) in serum as vital indicators in pre-diabetes patients, newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients, and healthy control group as a predictor of risk factors.
Samples Materials and Methods
The current study included 180 participants adultsn50 newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus (28 men and 22 women), 50 with pre-diabetes (27 men and 23 women), compared with 80 healthy control groups (44 men and 36 women). We examined serum levels of furin enzyme activity, (FABP-4) and insulin hormone.
Results
The results in the current study showed that the average effectiveness of furin enzyme in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients was very much lower than it was in the control group (0.06±0.53), and the pre-diabetes group was significantly less than the control group (0.85± 0.26). The levels of effectiveness of furin enzyme were significantly high in the control group (1.70±0.66), with a difference very high significance p
