Fahr’s syndrome with psychotic features – Review and Case report

Abstract

Basal ganglia calcification is also known as Fahr’s disease or Fahr’s syndrome. It is a rare inherited or sporadic neurological disorder characterized by neurological and neuropsychiatric manifestations. The case presented is 84 year female who presented with cognitive deficits and CT scan showed bilateral frontal, basal ganglia, cerebellar calcifications.
Fahr’s syndrome which is a rare inherited, sporadic neurological disorder presenting with neurological and Neuro psychiatric symptoms, diagnosis based on radiological findings with characteristic calcifications in Basal ganglia, cerebellum and frontal lobes. A case of an 84 yr.old woman presenting with cognitive deficits and Psychotic symptoms and radiological findings
