Abstract

Annals of Ayurvedic Medicine was initially dreamt as a
platform to facilitate highly précised academic
communications between researchers, practitioners and
aspirants of Ayurveda and allied fields willing to groom
Ayurveda to the global standards. There had been visible
gaps in the research communication particular to the field
of Ayurveda. Many international journals were reluctant
in accepting the traditional medicine based researches and
the Indian journals focusing upon Ayurveda or other
traditional systems were lacking in the cutting edge required
for them to be qualified as a scientific journal. Besides
this there was a soaring gap between the qualities of
Ayurveda manuscripts to that of publication standards
accepted universally. Therefore it was the high time to
think of a journal which can make both the ends meet by
facilitating the prospective authors from Ayurveda to
extend support in improving their manuscript quality and
at the same time by keeping the highest standards of
publishing intact. Prof RH Singh played a key role in
materializing this dream by setting up a launching pad for
this journal by assigning it as an official journal to the
‘Society of Ayurvedic Physicians of India (SAPI)’.
