Abstract

Lung air cysts and bullae are airborne cavities larger than 1 cm in diameter, surrounded by a thin wall, localized within the lung tissue. The bullae are often located apically in the lung. They are usually asymptomatic unless they are very large in size and are detected on chest X-ray or lung tomography. In this article, we present an asymptomatic 79-year-old male patient who was randomly detected as having an air cyst in the anterior segment of the upper lobe of the left lung during the preparation for coronary bypass. We did not find similar cases in PUBMED literature review.
