Abstract

Fistula in Ano is a common clinical condition which still poses problems in its routine management. Operative procedures adopted are
found frequently associated with recurrences and complications like infections. Ayurvedic classics have an elaborate description of
bhagandara which has clinical similarities to that of Fistula in Ano. A clinical trial was conducted upon 30 patients of Bhagandara with
Ayurvedic intervention of Apamarga kshara sutra along with nishadi tail purana in one group and apamarga kshara sutra alone in another
group.
