PRODUCTIVITY ANALYSIS OF FIRMS REGISTERED TO ISTANBUL STOCK EXCHANGE IN THE CEMENT INDUSTRY WITH THE METHOD OF DATA ENVELOPING ANALYSIS

Researchs by scientific methods on industries which consist basis of economy constitute competitive advantage for our industries. One of these studies is efficiancy analysis by the method of Data Envelope Analysis. DEA presents the possibility for relatively evaulating of comparative resource efficiency for organizations against the others or in theirs historical process.Today, wherein resource are scarce and competition is harsh, it is so important for competitive advantage that the efficiently use of resourse without wasting, increasing productivity and decreasing costs.One of the indicator of development and wealth is growing in building industry. Considering that the cement sector is linked to building industry takes us to the similar deduction. This purpose has been done on cement manufacturing firms registered to İstanbul Stock Exchange. Sample of the study is consist of 10 organizations. At the final analysis related to annual and total productivity examination it is concluded that the organizations with smalller asset quantity are more productive than the others. In this frame the study aims to measure efficiency by the method of Data Envelope Analysis.
