In this study, the theoretical background of core inflation andmeasurement methods are investigated. Although related literature has not yet reached to a concensus on the definition of core inflation, most policymakers and analysts agree on the idea that core inftatian should be a good indicator of the underlying inflation trend. The methods to measure core inftatian are classified in two broad categories: (i) statistical adjustment methods and (ii) econometric methods.
