The Correlation Between Erectile Dysfunction and Severity of Ulcerative Colitis Activity

Objective: In ulcerative colitis (UC) patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients have a major impact on patients' quality of life, mood, and sexual life. In this study, we compared the level of disease activity and erectile dysfunction (ED) in men with IBD. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted at the Gastroenterology Clinic. We prospectively planned to study the severity of UC activity, ED score and laboratory parameters of patients admitted to the hospital. The diagnosis of UC was made according to the guidelines for European Crohn's and Colitis Organization. The severity of Truelove and Witts was used to determine the severity of UC activity. The severity of ED was determined using the five-point Turkish version of the international index of erectile function. Results: The study included 76 male patients.
