The Effect of Constructivist Blended Learning Environment on Listening and Speaking Skills

Abstract

This study was carried out to identify the effects of constructivist blended learning environment (CBLE) on the listening and speaking skill competencies. Focusing on the listening and listening comprehension dimensions of listening skills and speaking and oral expression dimensions of speaking skills, the experimental research design with pre-posttest control group was applied. The study was designed in the face-to-face and online modes complementing each other. Self-assessment and teacher evaluation forms with criteria provided were completed during the activities. The collected data reveal that listening and speaking activities in the CBLE were effective in improving the listening, listening comprehension, speaking and oral expression skills of the fourth grade primary school students.
