The Examination of Values in Story Texts in Primary School 6th 7th and 8th Grade Turkish Textbooks in Context of Collocation

Abstract

Due to the fact that collocation has important functions in value transmission, the aim of the study is the examination of values in story texts in primary school 6th, 7th and 8th grade textbooks in context of collocation. The method of the research is document analysis. The data source consists of 8 story texts in Turkish textbooks that were distributed to the 6.,7. and 8. grade students in the 2011/2012 academic year in city of Malatya. Among the universal values, sensitivity was determined to be the most repeated universal value. (284 times) The most emphasized national value is traditions repeated by 168 collocation.
