Analysis of Lunch/Recess Duty through Teachers’ Views: Problems and Recommendations

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine teachers’ views on lunch/recess duty, their problems with it and their suggestions. Survey method was used in the study. The data were collected from 20 schools through a questionnaire consisting of six open-ended questions. The questionnaires were filled out by teachers at some schools at city center in Aydın during 2012-2013 academic-year, spring semester. A total of 236 teachers filled out the questionnaire. Collected data were analyzed through content analysis technique. This is an important study in terms of clarifying teachers’ views, problems and suggestions on lunch/recess duty and of taking advantage of the study for any other study on lunch/recess duty.
