The Relationship between Primary School Students' ComputerInternet Usage and Reading Habits: Sample of Konya

Abstract

In this study, the relationship between primary school students’ computer and Internet usage rates
and their reading habits were examined. Data were collected over the Internet by online survey. The population
of the research consisted of all students attending 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades in primary schools in Konya. The
research was carried out by a survey model. Frequency, percentage and ratio techniques used for descriptive
analysis and binomial regression technique were used for the relational analysis. Ratios and percentages were
reported by the tables and graphics. Findings were discussed and interpreted with the related literature.
