Researching Fifth Grade Students’ Learned Helplessness Degree and Classroom Atmosphere in Social-Demographic Variables

Abstract

This research aimed to find about if there is a difference between the students ‘learned
helplessness level and what they comprehend in the classroom atmosphere according to social-demographing
variables. A total of 530 students, from 9 school in 3 different social and economical statues participated in the
study. “Learned Helplessness for Children”, “The Classroom Atmosphere Scale” and “A Personal Information
Form” applied to students. Data were analyzed using statistical techniques. It is retained that there is a
significant relation between the students’ learned helplessness and classroom atmosphere. According to the
results this research, there is a significant relation between the level of learned helplessness and all the social
demographic variables which is used in the personal information forms.
