The Qualities and Professional Competencies of the Teachers of Religous Culture and Ethics Course

Abstract

The world, which we live in, is rapidly changing and evolving over time parallel to the improvements in the industry, technology and globalization and in accordance with scientific research performed in many fields. With respect to these developments, countries’ needs and the problems that citizens have to cope with changes as well. As a result, in order to raise the man power that is supposed to satisfy the requirements and that produces solutions to the faced problems, teachers also have to keep pace with the evolution of the earth and have to improve their qualifications. Religion, which is a supplementary and dynamic component of human life, contributes to individuals in the process of overcoming problems and generating solutions to these problems. It also helps an individual to realize his/her situation and role in the universe and The Teachers of Religous Culture and Ethics Course guide their students in this field while informing them about religion. The objective of this study is to determine which qualifications and competences The Teacher of Religous Culture and Ethics Course has to posses with respect to the changing needs and conditions of life.
