This study examined the psychometric properties of Autonomous-Related Self in Family Scales (Kağıtçıbaşı, 2007). A total of 1133 Turkish high school students from the city of Ankara completed the 22 items self-report measures of autonomous-related self in family scales. The scale has three dimensions namely autonomous self, related self and autonomous-related self in family. In order to examine the structure validity and factor structure of the scale explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis have been carried out. Results of explanatory factor analysis showed that the scale had a three-factor construct and also confirmatory factor analyses confirmed the these three factor structure of the scale. The internal consistency of the autonomous self (.69) related self (.77) and autonomous-related self (.73) in family scales was acceptable. Autonomous-related self in family scales also proved useful in assessing gender differences in self construal. All these values suggest that the scale is valid and reliable for high school students.
