The Level of knowledge of Pre-service Teachers Related to Units Used in Science Lessons Given to the 5th Elementary School

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to determine the understanding of science concepts of the units used in science lessons given to the 5 th year elementary school teachers to be (students) and to carry out our investigation according to their gender, department of the high school they are graduated from as well as their ÖSS scores. This research was carried out in the faculty of Education department of school teachers and was applied to 160 students. The results obtained were analysed ANOVA, Nonparametric and t test used. All statistical analysis were in 0.05 level. These results were as follows: 1.Department of elemantary teacher traing, fourth class students, fifth year elementary school to be do not have the required knowledge of the units used in the science lesson. 2.Average test results given by graduate of the science department were higher than the results obtained from the graduates of social department. 3.The test results are not change according to gender and ÖSS scores of the students.
