Abstract

In order to reduce the rest pain and to delay amputation time, intraarterial prostaglandin E1 infusion was performed to 9 patients with chronic arterial occlusive disease (stage 111 n = 6, stage iV n= 3). The follow up of the theraphy was done with clinical evaluation, doppler, thermography and Tc99 Human serum albumin limb blood flow meausurement. The results of Tc99 Human serum albumin limb blood flow measurements were compared with the other modalities. it was shown that prostaglandin E1 resulted in evident recovery in the stage 111 patients with both clinical course and ra dionuclide method. There was not an evident clinical recovery in the IV'th grade patients and this was also determined by radionuclide method. The measurement of blood flow with Tc99 Human serum albumin is a technique that can give the limb perfusion both visually and quantitatively. it is concluded that this method is a usefull technique in both meas urement anp follow up of the therapy.
