Chronic venous statis is evidenced by edema, pigmentation, dermatitis, induration, cellulitis or ulcer around the lower portion of the legs. Venous valvular incompetence outflow obstruction and primary or secondary calf muscle failure are the underlying pathophysiological abnormalities in patients with venous insufficiency. in particular, deep venous reflux has been incriminated as an important cause venous insufficiency.
Betwenn January 1986-December 1992, 30 patients with venous ulcers were hospitalized in our institution. Ali of them were implanted the skin graf. Both cruses of them were taken elevation without compression.•18 of them were taken elevation withouttaking compression. 18 of them were performed on subfacial ligation prosedure (Linton flap op­ eration). The patients were followed 45.6±4.8 months and 6.2±2.7 times. it was seen !han subfacial ligation procedure could provide long term and betler palliation. •
