Controller design, in the presence of disturbances is a challenging task to ensure the tracking performance. In this paper a comparison study of two tracking controllers is presented. First, the control is achieved by conventional Һ-∞ tracking control. Receding horizon strategy is combined with Һ-∞ tracking control to improve the tracking effectiveness of the system. Differential Evolution is applied for the same systems. It is found that Differential Evolution is very easy to apply and, efficient to solve optimal control problem. Simulations have been carried out for conventional receding horizon Һ-∞ (RHҺ-∞) control and using Differential Evolution.
