Validity of Kocaeli Short Screening Scale for Psychological Trauma (Kocaeli - SHORT)

Abstract

Objective: This study evaluates the validity of a short scale, which was developed by authors for screening Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in community-based mental health surveys. Method: The study was a methodological research. Study group consisted of 127 subjects, who experienced lifelong at least one traumatic event. Subjects were recruited from Kocaeli University Medical Faculty Psychiatry and Psychological Trauma Unit. Clinician-Administered PTSD Scale was used as gold standart to evaluate validity of Kocaeli Short Screening Scale for Psychological Trauma. Results: Statistically significant relation was found between Kocaeli Short Screening Scale for Psychological Trauma symptom severity and CAPS scores (r =.71, p
