Abstract

One third of world population is anemic and iron deficiency is one of the major cause for it.The causes of iron deficiency varies simply from dietary deficiency to malignancies. Diagnosis of iron deficiency anemia is simple and also the treatment is easy. It is preventable with public awareness and dietary counseling. This review is on the latest updates and guidelines for the diagnosis and management of iron deficiency .
