The analysis of modern suppository bases is carried out depending on their physicochemical properties, classification of excipients from various pharmacopoeias of the world is given. The advantages and disadvantages of various suppository bases for the rational choice for the development of future drugs in the form of suppositories, in particular extemporal drugs, are given.
