Abstract | | | Cited by 0 Articles | Objective: To evaluate a patient's level of self-efficiency in regards to self-care tasks by diabetic patients.
Methodology: This descriptive correlational study was carried out from December 2020 to July 2021. A non-probability purposive sampling technic was used. Diabetes Mellitus patients who visited the Al-Sadder Medical City/Al-Najaf Center for Diabetes and Endocrine disorders were included. Demographic and clinical data, self-efficiency and self-care were recorded.
Results: Patients' self-care was given a moderate rating, and their replies to the self-efficiency domain questions were given a moderate rating. Furthermore, with a p-value of 0.005, patients' self-care, there was a very strong association with self-efficiency.
Conclusion: Patients' self-care had a direct impact on their self-efficiency. Because of this, patients' self-care grows as well as their self-efficiency, and vice versa.
