Investigation of the Effect of Financial Ratios on Market Value / Book Value Ratio by Panel Data Analysis: Application in BİST Registered Weaving, Garment and Leather Sector

Financial information produced by business can made more meaningful by ratio analysis and statistical analysis. The effect of 10 financial ratios, which are determined as independent variables, on Market Value / Book Value (PDD) ratio, which is determined as dependent variable, have examined by panel data analysis. After the limitation assumptions of panel data analysis were fulfilled, the analysis have started. Observation information about the financial statements of the 20 BIST companies used in the research was obtained from the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) website. Financial ratios was determined by examining previously studies. As a result of the analysis, it was found except ADC, BO and HBK that It has been observed a 1% significance relate between PDD and financial ratios. ADC is correlated at 5% significance level and BO and HBK at 10% significance level. AK, ALD and ODC ratios is be in negatively relate and others, positively relate. As a result, the hypothesis that "there is a relationship between independent variables and dependent variable" is not rejected. These affects, whether positive or negative, are low in size.
