Airway obstruction secondary to congenital vallecular cyst: when should we intervene?

Abstract

Congenital vallecular cyst is a rare cause of congenital stridor. It is benign and usually present at the lingual surface of the epiglottis. Early and timely intervention could prevent fatal complication arising from it.We present cases of congenitalvallecular cyst presented to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (UKMMC) which is a tertiary referral centre from September 2007 until October 2012.
