Abstract

Teledermatology (TD) is a specialized area of dermatology that uses communication technology for diagnosis and treatment. TD has quickly become one of the most explored and fastest-growing areas in telemedicine. Telemedicine persisted in having roles in caring for patients even following the pandemic, especially for long term dermal conditions. This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of telemedicine in managing psoriasis (PsO) by analyzing studies concerned with this topic. This review followed the PRISMA guidelines and involved searching through databases using relevant keywords. The studies were selected based on definite criteria, and the risk of bias was assessed for the studies. The review analyzed 10 studies, including trials and observational research. The outcomes were categorized into primary and secondary outcomes. Telemedicine matches in-person PsO care in reducing disease severity, improving quality of life, and boosting satisfaction while lowering access barriers.
