Egyptian status of continuum of care for maternal, newborn, and child health: Sohag Governorate as an example

Abstract

Background: Utilization of maternal health-care service is essential for the improvement of both maternal and child health, reduction in maternal and child mortality.

Objective: Recognize factors that affect women continuation in getting care through pregnancy, delivery and after delivery.

Material and Methods: This is a cross-sectional study conducted at Sohag governorate, Egypt, within a period extended from April to August 2017, we approached all women aged 18–49 years, who gave birth in the past 5 years before the survey, attending primary health-care center and mother and child health centers at Sohag city.
